NEW SCIAPS Z-902 ANALYZER SALE!! (SCIAPS Z-902 ANALYZER)

The analyzer uses two spectrometers to extend the  wavelength range to 190 – 620 nm. The instrument is factory calibrated for a suite of 15-20 elements, depending on application. Or operators may use the accompanying Profile Builder software package to customize to specific elements, their own calibration standards, and spectral processing.  The Z-902 can be set up to measure the emissions of any element. Common factory-calibrated Z-902 applications include alloy and aluminum.

The Z-902 is configured to analyze all variety of alloy bases. Laser is particularly good for aluminum alloys due to the superior analysis (compared to X-ray) for magnesium and silicon. Laser will also measure lithium (Li), beryllium (Be) and boron (B) in alloys. X-ray cannot measure these alloys at all. Other scrap advantages for the Z include minimal or no grinding due to the Z’s high energy laser, high frequency laser for rapid surface cleaning. This is particularly advantageous for aluminum alloys since the Z burns through anodizing, unlike X-ray. The Z also eliminates travel and regulatory burdens that are inherent with X-ray. Finally, the Z-902 is great on ferrous alloys and the Z-902 Carbon offers carbon analysis as well.

The Z-902 for alloy analysis measures 15-20 elements in 7 common alloy bases, including aluminum, stainless, iron, copper, titanium, nickel and cobalt bases. Other bases may be added for a small fee, or users may add their own calibrations. ‍Need to measure carbon in steels and stainless—including verifying L- and H-grade stainless? Use SciAps Z-902 Carbon, in use globally for measuring carbon and other elements in steels, stainless and nickel alloys.

NEW SCIAPS X-50 HANDHELD XRF ANALYZER SALE!! (SCIAPS X-50 HANDHELD XRF ANALYZER)

The totally re-engineered X-200 and X-50 are the lowest priced XRF guns on the market, yet still offer best-in-class analytical and speed performance, with all all the accuracy and throughput of the X-5 Series. Now with improved heat dissipation, reduced weight, and new user-interface.

The SciAps X-50, most competitive portable X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) analyzer, uses the proven, reliable and competitive technology of PiN diode detectors. For many applications such as basic sorting of stainless steel, refractories and copper alloys, or analyzing heavy metals in soils, ores, powders, gold, precious metals, etc., the PiN technology is perfectly suited. The X-50 allow to measure all the needed elements for currents applications. The X-50 presents a very attractive price for routine applications.

The x-50 is the “old school” PiN diode technology for basic analysis of transition and heavy metals. A great value for analyzing basic alloys including stainless, high temps, copper alloys.

The X-50 features PiN diode technology, which is the previous generation detector prior to the advent of silicon drift detectors. The PiN technology processes a factor of 10x – 20x lower X-ray rates than the silicon drift detectors, and has resolution that is about 70 eV less (greater width). However, for many applications, such as basic sorting of stainless, high temp, and copper alloys, or to analyze base or heavy metals in soils, ores, powders, etc., the PiN technology is satisfactory. The X-50 will NOT measure Mg, Al or Si in alloys. For some materials, X-50 can measure P and S at the 1% level. Limits of detection will be 3x higher (elevated) compared to SDD versions of the X.

However, the X-50 features an attractive price point for the applications that work well. The X-50 includes the same advanced X-ray tube as other X models (operating at 40 kV max.), integrated camera, macro-camera, video, and the Android OS platform. The X-50 is available for alloy, environmental, mining/exploration, precious metals, car catalysts, coatings and an empirical app for industrial and user-customizable applications. Analyzers may be factory calibrated with fundamental parameters, Compton Normalization (EPA Method 6200), or user-defined empirical calibrations.

NEW SCIAPS Z-200 C PLUS LIBS ANALYZER SALE!! (SCIAPS Z-200 C LIBS ANALYZER)

The Z-200 C is a dedicated analyzer for alloy analysis including carbon content. It analyzes carbon content in stainless, down to 0.007 ppm, for dependable separation of L and H grades. The C also analyzes carbon steels, including carbon equivalents (CE) for weldability. The analyzer is available in two versions. The Z-200 C comes with iron-base calibrations including carbon. The Z-200 C includes both iron and stainless bases and carbon.

The Z uses the technique laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS), which has many similarities to spark OES. LIBS has been an established laboratory technique for 20 years. It fires a pulsed laser at the material to create a plasma, instead of a continuous electric spark-like spark OES. Light from the plasma is measured with an onboard spectrometer to determine individual wavelengths and thus what elements are present. The elemental content is quantified via onboard calibrations.

High resolution is critical. The Z-200 C is equipped with a dedicated third spectrometer optimized for the best wavelength resolution around the carbon line. Due to the many nearby iron lines, resolution better than 0.080 nm is a must. Powerful laser – onboard argon purge – high resolution spectrometer. It’s the key to rock solid, in-field carbon analysis for alloys.

Features:

  • High-purity Argon and Purge. Argon purge is essential for quantitative analysis with LIBS and OES, and for carbon it is critical
  • High laser pulse energy and frequency. The SciAps laser delivers 5-6 mJ/pulse on the sample, with a 50 Hz repetition rate
  • Laser Raster. Rastering is a must for accurate carbon tests with LIBS. The laser is typically 100 um diameter beam and even the best sample prep may not completely remove surface contamination on this distance scale
  • High speed laser cleaning shots. Eliminates most surface sample prep
  • Eliminates bad burns. On-board camera and laser targeting eliminates poor quality “burns”
  • Android OS and Data SHARE Apps. Share data direct to your phone, sync with any computer globally, print to wireless printers

Applications:

  • Refinery companies
  • Inspection companies
  • Carbon analysis in alloys in the field in seconds
  • Carbon analysis in L, H and Standard Grade Stainless
From sophisticated analysis of ultra-low elemental concentrations in alloys, ores, brines and powders, to basic material or scrap sorting, SciAps offers a model for your application. And we defy obsolescence. Any lower performing model can be upgraded to a higher performing model at any time. You’re never obsolete with a SciAps LIBS.

NEW SCIAPS X-550 HANDHELD XRF ANALYZER SALE!! (SCIAPS X-550 HANDHELD XRF ANALYZER)

For many PMI applications, fast tests are sufficient for verification of alloy grade and geochemistry. More complicated applications require longer test times or multi-beam operations (one beam optimized for transition and heavy metals; the other for low atomic number elements Mg, Si, Al, P and S). Dedicated apps ensure testing follows correct procedures, such as recommended test times and X-ray beam settings. For example, the Residuals app defaults to 15-second test times due to the need to measure Ni, Cr and Cu at <0.03% each (sum <0.15%) and Nb and V at <0.02%. The Sulfidic Corrosion app is preconfigured to require two-beam tests in order to measure Si down to 0.03% in steels.

The SciAps X-550 sets a new performance standard for handheld XRF. Weighing 2.98 lbs. (1.3 kg) with the battery, it’s the lightest, fastest, most articulate X-ray gun ever made. It delivers the small size, blazing speed and high precision of the SciAps X Series in a perfectly balanced device. It’s fast on all alloys, including aluminums. The X-550 uses the industry’s most powerful X-ray tube, operating up to 3x the power in the Beam 2 setting compared to the SciAps X-505 and other handheld XRF analyzers. The unique geometry and tube power optimize performance for low atomic number measurement applications including sulfidic corrosion (low Si), phosphorus and sulfur, and aluminum alloys, as well as for residuals analysis per API 751 and 5L specifications.

The high powered X-ray tube in the X-550 provides fast analysis of phosphorus (P) in copper and P and sulfur (S) in steels and stainless, allowing you to economically upgrade your copper and ferrous material based on low P and S levels.  The X-550 is 3x faster on P and S than is the X-505 or competing XRFs. Faster testing times make upgrading material for low P and S more economical.

Scrap processing has moved beyond just grade sorting. Many consumers now demand analysis on tramp or residual elements in common steel, nickel and copper alloys. The X-505 is optimized for low detection limits on common tramp elements, including Cr, Ni, Cu, V, Nb, Mo in steels, Pb and Bi in nickel alloys, and various undesired elements in copper alloys.

Features:

  • No radioactive isotopes: Greatly reduces the burden of owning and controlling radioactive materials and costly replacement.
  • Highest levels of accuracy: No substrate corrections, no inconclusive ranges or tests, even for action levels as low as 0.5 mg/cm2.
  • Fastest tests: Test in 2-6 seconds, and never lose speed over time. Quick Mode preferred for PCS types of testing, and Timed Mode for industrial lead paint testing. Delivers PMI for most alloys in 1-2 seconds with excellent precision.
  • The Cloud, Connectivity, and Android: Built on Google’s Android platform for real-time data exporting.
